Grifter JC - Yep on the 'east', 212 is the area code for New York City. I used it a little bit as 'cover' years ago, but never played it as a pure progression. 2003-07-23 12:49:38
JC Thanks Grifter, I did not know it had a name, but that makes sense since I am from the east and thats where I learned it. Have you tried it? 2003-07-23 12:38:14
Grifter If anyone wants to know. That 2,1,2,3,4,5 progression is called the "New York". 2003-07-23 12:26:05
zebra jc's progression is similar to my zebra progression 3x, x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x, hold at 4x. you can lock in some nice gains after the first regression. jc is a bit more conservative (except for the jump from x to 2x) than the zebra -- i may just borrow this progression and take it for a test drive. thanks for the post. 2003-07-23 12:21:11
J C BUGMASTER If you are playing at a $25 table with only 200-300 cash you can get wiped out in a heart beat. After 8 losers in a row youare only left with 4 units to bet with. You have to have some cushion so that you can capitolize on the winning streaks. As for my betting style, I will try to explain it again. My first bet at the table would be 2 units. If I win that hand I will drop down to 1 unit. If I win the next hand I will go back to 2 units. Next win bet 3. next win bet 4 next win bet 5 etc. If at anytime you lose you start all over again. REMEMBER 2-1-2-3-4-5 etc.A few months ago I made it up to ten units. This with good BS has helped me out tremendously. 2003-07-23 12:09:48
BuGhOu§eMASTER And someone explain to me why it's best to start with 40x the min. bet for your bankroll? I usually bring 2-300 for a night, and have fun playing at even the $25 tables, and I'm supposedly supposed to start with a $1000(?!?!?!) bankroll?! What's up with that! 2003-07-23 10:53:06
BuGhOu§eMASTER JC... I still dont understand the 2-3-4-5 part... 2003-07-23 10:41:43
Mr. Ed As stupid as most ploppies are, they sense that CSMs are "bad luck", "jinxed" or some such nonsense and don't play these tables. Maybe they notice that they loose faster without the shuffle breaks. This is one time when ploppies are actually helpful. Now, if we could only convince them that 6:5 BJ is "bad luck" or "too much like 6:6 or '666'" we'd be set! 2003-07-23 09:26:16
J C BUG I bet 2 units in the beginning then if I win I drop down to 1 if I win again I go back up to 2 units and so on 2-1-2-3-4-5 etc. The odds are against you hitting 2 in a row so when a trend comes along you win alot more chips while protecting your downside. but of course you must have the proper bankroll (40x the table min.) you also put your entire bankroll up for the session or until you reach your win limit of 20 units. Like I said I am 5 for 5 at A.C. since using this system, I consider myself a very disciplined player. If you win you must leave. 2003-07-23 03:45:27
InfeedJam If card counting is frowned upon, and csm's void the ability to count, why would there still be tables that don't use csm's? 2003-07-22 23:11:33
acepaula Las Vegas club also has a pretty good restaurant in back-I think it was called Great Moments. I also ate at Hugo's Cellar at the 4 Queens. Excellent food but a tad pricey. The 99 cent shrimp at the Golden Gate has to be the best deal in town. 2003-07-22 21:22:34
Mike Hey Neil, Are you having Bandwidth issues? 2003-07-22 21:20:18
Mike The Las Vegas Club is a good place to learn Craps..Kinda quiet, and great staff. Downtown is great for BJ cause it's easy to walk away from a bad shoe, to any other Fremont Street casino, without having to deal with a billion people or drive for 20 minutes to go next door. 2003-07-22 21:09:56
Trop Guy Acepaula. Regarding your Craps story: I play A LOT of craps and i've seen more mistakes at this game than any other i've ever played. Your particular story is a first for me. Keep playing craps and you WILL see more mistakes, mostly in your favor! 2003-07-22 20:33:08
BuGhOu§eMASTER If I knew how to play Craps I'd probably understand what you just posted. 2003-07-22 20:24:42
acepaula I know this is a BJ forum, but I have to share a craps story with you folks. I was taking a break from BJ, and decided to try my luck at the craps table at the Las Vegas Club. I had the dice, and had established my point of nine. After several rolls, I rolled a 10, and the dealer at the other end of the table yelled "winner". Seems that they had put the point puck on 10 at that end, while my end showed the nine. After much heated discussion, the house decided to pay all pass line bets. Incredible huh? 2003-07-22 20:13:36
BuGhOu§eMASTER Actually, Ace actually where I play VERY FEW dealer's know what they're talking, much less know PERFECT BASIC STRATEGY. Like for instance when someone asks the dealer what to do on a 12 against dealer's 3... the dealer's all like "you're supposed to STAY and expect me to bust"... and what not. Pretty annoying to watch them say that when you yourself know PERFECT BS and know they are just full of shit. I'm still quite shocked how many ignorant players wander and bet their money on BJ when THEY DONT KNOW THE BEST WAY TO PLAY!!! But hey, it's not MY money that's gonna be going down faster then normal, is it? JC, explain more about your progressive/regressive system so I can understand it further. 2-1-2-3-4-5? Isn't it supposed to go back dOWN after the 3rd bet of 2 units? Instead, you said 2-3-4-5... that seems one DOWN regressive then progressive 4 in a row to me... And I dont think there is a win ratio 75% of the time otherwise the casino's would have LONG banned it from being used. I haven't really experimented all that much with betting systems although last time I went I used Dahl's Progression with moderate success. I couldn't stay that long so that probably wasn't good as you must be PATIENT. 2003-07-22 19:39:18
