I am aware of the splits and doubles and would play accordingly and still would not be end of world losing more here.Just try to critic for me the 10-20-40-80-100-100-100 martingale or maybe you already have and i am not listening. The 18-1 for four seems to have value and odds of losing 7 in a row seems like more value seeing you are only trying to regain and not bet the whole 640 on one bet if you martingaled all the way,10-20-40-80-160-320-640 or total of 1240. Still trying for logic but I know you are right. |

Danger Hours : The first two hours in town and the Last two hours in town. First two hours you still have lots of money in your pocket and it is very easy to go on tilt, when things are not going your way.(chase you losses) Many a winning trip has been turned into a losing one, in the last two hours. |

okohiored- Eau (Oh) Contraire Mon Ami. That is Not the Most you "can" lose. What if you are on your last $100 bet and get 8-8 vs dealers 6 ? Split and resplit and have four hands of Double downs ($800) ? Now the question is not, does he have a 5 in the hole, just what color, is the 5 in the hole... |

my mind is made up to try this martingale -10-20-40-80-100-100-100=450.00 most that can be lost. Try this at least three times and if showing a loss after three sessions of this strategy than quit blackjack for rest of vegas. Maybe go play the nickle slots.Planning on a prizefight on 7-9 at orleans hotel and also going to reno for1-2 days probably 7-10 or 7-11. What the hell if I lose 5k than no wife or dog bugging me. I also like to bet the horses and parley some sporting events.Gamblers Annymous save me a seat |

Damn Odds I know what midnight and others are saying that play enough and you get hooked on martingale but boy is it fun while winning.Last time played lot of martingale in vegas and was up 6600 after three days.Last day only had two hours before plane left and lost 10-12 in a row at stardust giving them back about 5000 of it.Pure greed got me as was thinking survived three days and what the hell could they do to me in two hours. they damn near buried me.Ssometimes hitting me on head goes to ass area before it travels to brain . |

someone critic this than 18-1 odds on losing 4 in a row-play 10-20-40-80 when hitting losing streak of 4 or150.00.Now play 2- hands at 100 each hoping you don't go to seven losses and making up some or all of your 150.00 that you lost in the four in a row.Still think some value in capitalizing on losing streaks.Someone help me with a plan. |

okohiored, if you are going to martingale yourself to death at least find a game with a win/loss ratio of close to 50%. In BJ I believe its about 43/47, the rest pushes (doubles, splits and bjs make up the rest of the player % advantage). Also a martingale on the pass line without placing odds is going to be boring, just play it in the field, there you win or lose every roll, but make sure its on a table with 2x and 3x payouts on 2 and 12. In fact in your honor I was going to do that on the Bally's 25 cent table this weekend but I didnt have time. I played it on a free download game and won but had plenty of 5-8 rolls with out a field win, at a start of 25 cents after 8 no field rolls you are betting 32 dollers to win a quarter, I don't think I would have played it past a 4 or 8 dollar bet, so Im sure I would have lost that day. |

Howdy all :o)
I've been surfing the net a bit and found amongst other 21 things this site with a fairly good message board. I live in the NE with some rather poor choices for 21. Has anyone been to Turning Stone in NY state? What kind of 21 is there?. Foxwoods horrible using 8 decks. Mohegan Sun a little better with 6 decks. AC,NJ a liitle far away, but if there's a 4 deck game offered for $25 min. I will consider it.
There is a new web site I stumbled upon while searching for references to Ken Uston's Ace-Five system.(dating to around 1980 ?). Its just a page and a chart page link. It seems as though it will remove the house edge, and offer a small winning pct. Link is http://www.ace-five.com/ace-five.htm
Looks Ok from a strategy point of view, just a few modifications to BS. Some of the bet ranges look high. 25-400! But at the bottom of the page, some "practice" wagering ranges look like break-even and are smaller in range. I have a simulator, and will try some large runs.
I would appreciate opinions... TIA

Desert Dog, by 'cojones' I didn't mean that macho gambling behavior you see in the casinos so much these days, but basicly the same thing as 'intestinal' fortitude (just insert ....icular here as a synonym), basicly what I was saying was after my first two sessions I felt like tucking my tail and running home, but I didn't. I switched tables, and kept with the plan, didnt try to chase my losses with big betting or wild betting, and was able to make them back. I guess cojones was not the best word because it can imply sexism, but in my field two of my most important mentors have been female, and they may have been great mom's and wives but I never saw that, I just saw awesome Doctors with the cojones to stand up to anyone in the field, in fact one of them told me one day when I was hem-hawing over a diagnostic decision that I needed to get some or consider a job in the food service industry. So I hope D and Desert Dog
Deluxe didn't take that the wrong way. |

okohiored- It is your money, bet it anyway you want to. You may win and I hope you do. If you do win, it will be in "spite" of the way you bet and "because" of, the way you bet. If someone offered to pay my way to Vegas, but I had to play the Martingale.....I would stay home. |

thinking martingale would also work on playing red or black hoping green 0 and 00 don't get you,or at crap table on pass or dont pass line.Any way leaving tuesday 7-8-03 to vegas for a week and may distibute the martingale to BJ,craps and roulette playing mostly even bets.Anyone here going to be in vegas 7-8 thru 7-15 ? |

D and Deer Dog Deluxe -- Glad to see both of you here on this board in spite of other stuff here lately. D, excellent about your results at Casino Windsor, and good you had it as a backup when Detroit's lowest limit bumped to $25. What game is your husband playing, that you have to cover his losses? I've got the same -- my wife loses more at the machines than I win at the tables. Do you ever drive to Toronto for great food, Greek and other? What progression were you using? Deer Dog Deluxe - you and Doc are both in Mississippi or nearby, aren't you? (And I guess there’s not a whole lot of spanakopita there.) |

D: thanks for the tip: I still have family in the Detroit area (grew up in Toldeo). Next time I'm in the area, maybe we can plan to play some bj together. Or eat Greek food: I'm so hungry for a plate of Spanikopita (or however you spell it). |
