To All...My ol\' buddy Midnite had a \"senior moment\" in his post below about the soft 18. I\'m sure he meant to say ...\"The rule of thumb is, if it says double and you can\'t...you STAND\" |

Ron T - You are right and wrong. Lets say the betting limit was $5 to $100 and you decided to bet the $100. You would lose $800 and win $500 x 2 =$1,000 out of every suit. |

It wouldn\'t make any difference which hand you picked, they all have 5 cards that would make 17 to 21. I probably wouldn\'t take them up on the promo as it\'s a losing proposition as I see it. |

No the casino isn\'t having a \"prom\" that was supposed to be promo. |

Quiz- The casino is running a prom. You get to make a one card draw to a stiff hand. If you make a hand from 17 to 21 they will pay you double. You get to pick your stiff hand. Which hand do you choose 12-13-14-15-16 and what do you bet ? |

D-Good catch. You are right on. I was working on a new counting method and had turned my brain to mush.. I knew right after I posted it, that I had made a mistake. The rule of thumb is, if it says double, but you can\'t....you hit. |

Midnite- 2? because...(you said no comment) |

Wait a minute....According to the BS I have for soft 18 vs dealer 4, you would stand on 2, 7, or 8---Hit 9,10, A --- and double 3-6 if you can. You can\'t double if you have 3 cards so,.....? |

Sorry newbie, I read it wrong.I still stand.Three small cards (5-2-4) and the dealer drawing to a stiff. |

Newbie- You stand. By the way 2-5-2 and Ace is 20, not 18. |

General question for the experts when you have soft 18 with more than 2 cards. For example, my first 2 cards are 5 and 2. The dealer shows a 4.
I draw an Ace. Do I stand or hit again? |

hawkeye - This situation actually happened to me at Caesar\'s about 4 years ago. I was on a $50 Dahl progression and after winning exactly 10 hands in a row (no splits, DDs or BJs), I was about to bet $500 on the hand (I know the bet should have been $350 since 7X = $350, but I got excited, ok? and forgot where I was in the progression!!). Anyhow, I politely asked her to wait and she gave me the dirtiest look like I had just cussed her out or something, but she did wait. Well I bet the $500 and got a 4-7 to the dealer\'s 6, so...you guessed it now I had to bet twice as much as I had ever bet before. Well, when the dealer rolled an A on my 11 and then a 4 under his 6 followed by a 9, I knew that I had just LOST the biggest BJ hand of my life. BUT...at least I got to see a little old lady smile...the stupid bitch. |

Midnite:ditto as Ron T said
sld:#1, simple reason you are there to gamble, right? Besides it\'s only money. Is the wheelchair battery operated? Because you can always just take the battery and run if you lost the hand. Cool question. |

Here\'s a better quiz: You are right in the middle of an incredible hot streak, you\'ve won 10 hands in a row, are at the top end of your progression and are about to bet the most amount of money you\'ve ever bet in your entire life--when all of a sudden you see a little old lady about to play one chip at first base. Do you (1) lay the big money down anyway, since as midnite says, it probably won\'t make any difference anyway, (2) wimp out and go back to 1 unit figuring \"hell I\'ve already won a ton of money anyway\", or(3) politely ask the old lady to wait and if she ignores you dump her wheelchair on the floor and leave the table in disgust! |

2, but get 2 to 1 on insurance bet |

Quiz : You are betting $10 and have a 20, the dealer turns up an Ace and ask if anyine wants insurance. You take it for half your bet. Sure enough he has BJ. What happens to your $10 bet ? (1) Win (2) Lose (3) Push. No comments (right now), just pick a number 1, 2 or 3. |
