Scott - Unless you are card counting, basic strategy says to double when you have an 11 against the dealers 10. |

would somoen please explain why this trainer tells you that you are incorrect if you don't double on 11 vs. a 10? Every book I've read calls for you to hit, not double on 11 against a 10. Any thoughts? |

Phil-g My guess is that if your playing with a progessive betting strategy your more likely to go on winning streaks with a table that hand shuffles. Since high value cards are more likely to clump together. Continuous shuffle machines are no good and I suggest boycotting them. |

Adam - They don't build casinos because people win. Just keep doing what you are doing and stay away from stupid side games like Spanish 21 and side bets. If the casino wants you to play then you know it can't be good. |

Adam-glad you had good luck, but I am afraid that is all it was...luck. You were right to stay away from the side bets. If they were good for the players, the casino would not offer them. There are some possiabilities with the side bets, but that is a another story. A different strategy is need for Spanish 21. You can not be a long term winner by just betting the table minimum, but you can have some fun. Just remember the "dog's tail wags both ways" Good luck and have fun. |

Oh yeah, I have another thing to add. The casino has spanish 21 and i've been looking at that because it only has a 3 dollar minimum, any strategies on playing that? (Spanish 21 is no tens in the deck. Has all face cards and every other card. Also when you get 21, you're automatically paid even if the dealer gets 21). |

Hey everyone, I just turned 18 and I've been going down to our local casino and playing blackjack. The game is called "match-the-dealer" with the option or a side-bet that lets you try to match the dealer with your two cards and his face up card (pays different odds). When I go in there, I never play it, I always bet the minimum bet (5 dollars), and in the last 10 times i've went in I've averaged stepping out with 20 dollars ahead (and had a great time), so I'm up a lot of money. Also, when I look around, everyone else is in the hole trying to "match the dealer", and they keep throwing away their money, same with the people who go in there and bet a lot. Is it just me? Am i just lucky? Or am i smart by thinking that that side bet is really stupid? Should I quit playing? All I ever do is just bet the minimum over and over again (no matter how much money i'm up), and i've been down to my last 5 dollar chip (I started with 30 dollars) and I came back and walked out with 50 dollars (another 20 dollars ahead). I don't know, but it just seems like playing conservatively is the best odds. Oh, and also I go with my best friend, he's 18, but never plays, he gives me money (like 15 dollars) and I'll throw out 15 dollars and I split whatever we win, but when he does play, we still split our winnings cause usually one of us will lose it all and the other one will make a lot and it's more than enough to compensate for the other person and to walk out ahead. Anything I should change in my stategies? I'm thinking that as soon as I walk in there with 100 dollars, I might start playing 10 dollars a hand (of course only if i'm ahead that money so i don't feel bad losing it). Also, I don't want to develop a gambling problem either, so Id on't know, my town isn't too exciting, but the casino sure is fun to sit at for a few hours on a friday and saturday night, especially since i keep winning. Thanks |

Why is it such a disadvantage to play at a table with a continuous shuffle machine? If you do not count cards you are going to play basic strategy on every hand. |

Deer Dog Deluxe: In answer to your question. Do I feed bills into a slot? Yeah, lots of 'em, lol. Liberal BJ in an Indian Casino? Not to my knowledge, but then, my BJ education re: casinos is very very limited. |

random- I would just hit and here is why. Almost half of you DD wins, will come from the dealer breaking. The dealer will only break about 20 % of the time, when he has an Ace up. As for the probabilities, Braun has the hit as +2, over the double. |

I would double down. |

I am a player of moderate experience, and I basically? know the basic strategy. But will someone tell me what to do if I have 11 and the dealer shows an Ace, but I have already passed on insurance, and the dealer did NOT have blackjack (no ten in hole)? Do I double or just hit? What are probabilities? Anyone? |

crackerjacky: do you feed bills into a slot to play? also, is there anywhere else in the general vicinity that's got more liberal bj? i've got friends near asheville and could conceivably drive that way again... |

They have only 3 of the Blitz tables NEXT to the dealers. I don't think the casino likes them which means "I" like them. They will probably faze them out eventually like they did all other similar machines. Minimum bet $25 & lightning fast. You are a pauper or a king in a few minutes. |
