Anyway....."I found that usually I lose the 5th hand"......not to be an ass, but you'll find that you actually usually lose ANY hand, and losing the 5th hand is just the way the cookie has crumbled in the past. Obviously, chances are excellent you'll never even make it to the 5th hand, but if you do, you have the same chance of winning that hand as any other: 47.5%. (Of course, that's assuming you play through ties).
In the end, progressions are still just ways of managing your standard deviation. They can increase it, or decrease it, but in the end, if you play long enough, you will lose.
The only way to truly 'win' at Blackjack is to win big in the short term by having standard deviation swing in your favor, and then never play again.
Sadly, most of us never get this chance.

bill said:ok, i have another possibly stupid question.
what are the basic rules of the progression?
do you stay in the progression only if you keep winning hands? or do you stay in the progression regardless?
i have tried a few progressions. but i never will start one until i win at least 2 hands in a row. is that how this one works?
