Splitting 10's-If you split 10's(any face cards) against the dealers 6 you will win 64 times and lose 36. If you stand you will win 85 times and only lose 15. The gain by standing and Not splitting the 10's is 13. So as tempting as it is, you are better off not doing it. |

Good question Ian. I'd like to know the answer to that one myself. Through percentages and statistics though. |

IAN;why split a winning hand |

I know that game strategy says that you should not split 10's, but for experimental purposes I do this when the dealer holds a 6. I must say that for the most part I tend to win on both hands. Is it really best not to split 10's, even if the dealer shows a 6, or have I just been lucky? |

Hi Neil. I sent you an email with a screenshot of a bug in the game. I stood on a 17 (9-8) against a dealerĀ“s 10 and the program sent an error message. Hope you receive the mail with the attachment and fix the problem soon. Best regards. |

Can you give me a couple of examples of tournament strategy? I have dreamed of playing the Hilton Tourny, but I'll stick to the local Indian casinos and Laughlin tournys until I get a litlle more informed. I've never won any, but have made it to the last round before. Good luck in in April! |

Mike- you need "two" games. One for "regular" BJ and one for tournament BJ. I will be playing in the Hilton tournament for the million bucks in April. Now that would be a nice tournament to win...You may need to do things in tournament play, that you would never do in regular play.I play in at least one tournament a month, I think they are a lot of fun and can be quite proitable. |

goof- It is better to bet small starting out and hope some of the other players bust out. Most tournaments are won or lost in the last few hands. You will have plenty of time to "make your move". They are a lot of fun. Hope you do well. |

Please..i really want to learn this game..so are there any books or some other ways to study the tables...The basic strategy is what i can understand.
London player is right, atleast here in Finland 99% of all the players are bad players.
So are there any literature.. |

Jacksonville- There are a few sites BJ21.com is one. Remeber that +2 is different in 6 decks than in a single or double deck.
Also you must consider the amount of cards left to be played and the pen. You are correct that you do deviate from basic strategy, when there is a large enough inbalance of either high or low cards.

Here is an example of what I'm looking for, say for instance the true count is 2. Meaning that the deck(s) are rich in 10's and aces. Now lets take the example of the 12 vs 2; if you stand you win 35% of the time but if you hit you win 37% of the time, this is assuming the deck is at a true count of 0. However, it is pretty obvious that the percentages are going to change depending on what cards are left in the deck, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a site that has already done the math on situations of this nature. Sorry for all the long messages and if anyone would like to talk about blackjack or just throw some theories around I can be reached on Icq # 12096476 |
