Hi Ian. A 5,5 should never be split, because a 10 is a good deal and a five pretty crummy. So you should always treat a 5,5 like a 10, and therefor refer to the row that describes the action of 10. I guess they just left it out to save space, since splitting would never be considerred. |

Hi, Neil. First of all I'd like to thank you for providing this excellent site - I didn't realise just how bad a bj player I was before! I do have one question which I hope you don't mind me asking:-Under the "Rules & Strategy" section there is a chart displaying hands dealt and the correct actions to take. I see that this covers every possibility except if the player is dealt 5,5. I was wondering why this is not included and also what would be the best move to make if the player gets 5 and 5? Maybe this is a really dumb question and maybe you get asked this one a lot of times, so I hope you don't mind me asking? Big thanks. |

hi there,
seems to me, i always win more, when i forgo the rules, and play the game on my instincts more...i think your game is good teaching "basic" rules of the game, but at times sticking to them, can lead you trouble too!!! |

After a quasi-successful career playing basketball in the NBA, I decided to put it all on the line playing blackjack in Atlantic City. And man, was it worth it. This site taught not only me, but my whole family how to play successful blackjack. I just finished teaching my 88 year old grandfather (who shoots his age at the local country club golf course) the basic HI/LO counting system. Thanks, Hit or Stand! |

The strategy taught on this site works fairly well. I went to the casino and hung in there even when the dealer hit BJ multiple times. I still came out breaking even with these methods. Thanks!!! |
