Wild ride at the tables. I went from over $500 up, to over $700 down and finished up $280. I did qualify for the $10,000 BJ Tournament, on the first try. ($5,000 for first place) Finals are this Friday. |

sld007 -- Been ther done that! In some ways it's more fun to play with the morons. I just tend to sit in the last seat and watch.
The nice thing about the cruise scene is if you can get a group together every night. If they are half decent folk, they'll keep you from making a mistake or ask before they do. Last cruise I was on was the Celiberty Galaxy last year. Saw the same things you did plus some, but after the third night there was a group of us that would take over a table from 9:00PM until closing. We all did pretty good. I ended up $500 and had a lot of fun.
One thing I picked up was if your sitting at a table with morons, don't be afraid to say something when they puck up. Most will either learn and not do it again or get pissed and walk.

WHATS THE PROPER WAY TO GET EVEN MONEY FROM THE DEALER WHEN I HAVE BJ AND THE DEALER SHOWS A ACE UP, ASK FOR IT, WAIT FOR THE DEALER TO SAY SOMETHING, HAND SIGNAL OR WHAT |

ATTENTION EVERYONE!! sld007 is back from a 1o day cruise to the Caribbean. The ship was the Celebrity Century. Only 5 BJ tables and all had dealer hit soft 17 (which screwed me about 9 times out of 10). I saw some of the worst shit in my life. Splitting tens, double on hard 14, hitting hard 17...but the worst was standing on a soft 6 because "they just didn't want to take a card and get a worse hand." Forget about the soft 18, these fools wouldn't know what to do with a HARD 18!! One other thing, with all due respect to Grifter and Midnite, EVERY time and I mean EVERY time someone did something dumb, I lost and lost BIG. I know that in the long run poor play should not make a difference but IT DID EVERY FRIGGIN' TIME THESE BONEHEADS TOOK THE DEALER'S BUST CARD, SPLIT TENS, etc. Still I played every day, used a Dahl progression at the 25 level, quit after 4 losses and won about $1200. So, I guess it was guerilla BJ but I came out ahead! |

Question, I've been told that a table playing together as a team has a better chance of winning,
ie, "don't take the dealers 10 by hitting".
But ain't I just as likely to take the dealers 2-5 therefore my play should not affect others at my table? |

ok question here, how come you double a4,5 against a 4 and why is this different from a2,3
on a-2,3,4,5 there are 5 cards each that will give you a hand of 17 or higher so why is the strategy different for a,4,5>?
thanks |

JetBlack - You are on the wrong site. HitorStand is great for learning Basic Strategy, but has minimal (if any) information on card counting. Try www.BJ21.com, which is moderated by Stanford Wong. |

I hear people saying leave or sit out after 4 losses in a row. through simulated hands with BS, I found that I would have missed out on some nice 5,6 and 7 win streaks if I left after a 4 hand losing streak in the beginning of a shoe. I also noticed that through half a shoe sometimes (6 deck) favor completely changed from dealer to player or vice versa. One more thing, I use progressive betting, but recently thought of starting a degressive after maybe a 4 or 5 hand loss in a row. Any thoughts from the pro's? |

pshea, Compaired to a flat bet of $15, that progression will lose in the third hand, (wwl) breakeven with wl,wwwl, wwwwl, and only be up $20 with a wwwwwl. Seems like it takes a long run of wins to make any money. |

Ron T. Many of the books say that a progression, over time will give the same results as flat betting. You are with the pack on that one. However, Suggest you read 21 Century BJ by Walter Thomason. He seems to prove that the one progression that he tested does work. It is a great book to read. But all the card counters think Walter is so...wrong!! |

Important to note that I started leaving tables after 3/4 losses after that -300 nite. Before that I would just ride out a bad shoe and hope the next was better. Heck, last night I left a table after one hand just because didn't like the dealer, sounds kinda stupid, but a good table with a good dealer makes a difference imo. Cheers. |

I've been using a progressive betting method of 15,15,25,25,35,35 and I leave a table if I lose four in a row, three if I don't like the dealer/table.
I've been to the Casino six times this year, and five times I have won:
100,45,-300,50,70,150
Granted I'm not making a fortune, but it doesn't matter, I love to play bj.
Note, the only loss I had was at a table with a cs machine, and I dropped that 300 in an hour. Bad nite, and I'll never play at a cs table again. |

yes i am familiar with them, for I wrote them, but pay no attention to them. People like you make me rich one, dosen't matter which table u use, house win most of the time, and you loose, loose, loose. |
