Mike Andy, This is all about what YOU want to do. If you want to walk away with money in your hand, then, do so.. If I lose 3 hands in a row, I'm outta there, to the next table or next casino. I play because I like to, as well. I love the game, but If I get down to what I bought in for, I will look for that luck, at a different table. It's all about streaking, no matter how well you play, you streak up and down..minimize your down streaks by reducing your bets and looking at changing your luck, by playing two hands or changing tables or whatever works for you. This comes with experience, hell, I even sit at tables where people are playing really bad, and I win just as much as at tables where people are playing perfectly. It's all luck. 2002-08-22 08:43:48
andy russell when do you quit when you are ahead? I drove 75 minutes today to the nearest casino, sat down at a ten dollar table, cashed in for $200.00 and within 30 minutes i was ahead $150.00. I wanted to keep playing though, and in the next 2 and one half hours, proceeded to lose all that plus what i bought in for......So anyone have any serious advice for me? when am i justified to quit, if i feel like i need to keep playing? 2002-08-22 01:42:55
Church Why is it that Basic strategy says alwys split Aces. Even on the charts on this site, yet when I split Aces against an ace I was told I was wrong and lost after 15 bonus points. What a rip off 2002-08-21 05:08:25
andy russell nearest casino to me is one hour away.anyone moved from where they used to live just to be closer to a casino, or is that a stupid idea. i love to play blackjack... 2002-08-21 02:04:08
Mike Another thing, you really need to pay attention to what's happening on the table, the dealers screw up ALOT!! Example, dealer pickes up all the money on the table with 3-7's and an ace.. I politely mentioned that she had busted..the other way too, they leave your money when you lose sometimes too.. weird huh? 2002-08-20 08:01:00
#1 Trop Guy Whoops!! The last message was for Mike. 2002-08-20 05:11:30
#1 Trop Guy Glad to here you did good in Vegas. I think it's a bunch of **** when they change the cards. You would think they would try to keep you happy for awhile so you would stay. Sounds like you were smart enough to leave in time to re-coupe. Good job! I've never seen them change cards in Atlantic City when someone is winning. 2002-08-20 05:10:34
Wayne I am going to Mohegan Sun in CT for 1st time. Play BJ well against hit or stand. Any suggestions as where to play, etc. Thanks! Wayne 2002-08-17 12:32:59
Mike You're right about the Venetian the 1st 20 min I dumped about 500.00, then I went downtown, wow what a difference, I spent all my gameing time there, and all my "spending" time on the strip and never ran short of cash in 5 days. I did notice that if you're up more than 5 or 6 hundred, that they will change caards or dealers for no apparent reason, but that's understandable I suppose :) 2002-08-16 17:53:33
Midnite Golden Nugget in downtown Vegas also has surrender. Several places have it. 2002-08-12 01:32:23
#1 Trop Guy Hey Hubbard, I think Sam's Town had surrender on some of their single deck games. I'm not positive but check there. 2002-08-11 16:13:00
Hubbard Has anyone ever seen a "surrender" game in Vegas or Laughlin? 2002-08-10 00:03:13
Deer Dog Deluxe Thanks folks, for this site. After about a year of driving two hours to our nearest casino and losing a pile in the slots, training on your site has finally given me the nerve to play blackjack. And today I left The Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia MS (great atmosphere! even when you're losing!) $333 to the good. The timed "Difficult" hands and the challenge of the bonus rounds really made the difference: knowing the stuff cold kept me from waffling. Much appreciated, your fan, DDD 2002-08-09 20:55:51
Hubbard Thanks Kenny and Trop...so I guess when we win, we're lucky and when we lose, well, thats why they still call it gambling. 2002-08-09 17:09:26
Kenny Rodgers The reason you don't see betting strategies here is that they don't work in the long run. The only way to win at BJ is to religiously study the percentages and play the hands correctly and to count cards. Even with counting cards it is still about a 50/50 chance that you will beat the house in the long run. Also, you almost have even odds even if you can't count cards - like me. 2002-08-09 12:54:07
slick88 Haven't found one legit BJ online site, anybody know a good one that actually pays out ? Any thoughts on Spanish 21 ? 2002-08-08 20:50:59
