Paul: I'm no expert, but I believe that the basic concept is that two hands with an initial 8 are much better than a 16. This must overcome the negative of putting twice as much money out versus a strong dealer up-card. Also, interestingly enough, a dealer upcard of ten is stronger than a dealer upcard of ace except under ENHC rules since with an ace up, you know the dealer does not have a ten in the hole.
If you want the math, I would suggest posting this question on BJ21.com or BJmath.com |

Can anyone explain splitting 8's under any circumstance? How would I benefit if the dealer is showing and ace? |

Our casino over here in sunny Scotland does not allow doubling on anything but 9,10,or 11. In HOS it appears that one can double on soft 18 if dealer shows 3 - 6, and with soft ace and less than 18 double if dealer shows 5 or 6! I am having a problem with these concepts !! |

Just learning BJ after winning and losing in LV. Going back in a few months...questions: what is a "soft" mean, why is pit boss called when you double down on 12, and even when you lose points (on this game) for bad strategy, but still win, isn't it like a "push"...thanks!! |

harriet: I have not heard any other reports like that. You say the browser window scrolls up or down when you try to click on a button. I would guess it's an issue with your browser or computer. Has anyone else experienced this? |

BJ Vinnie: Hit or Stand does not incorporate 3 card strategy, only strategy from the 2 card tables. I didn't want to overcomplicate it and further confuse players. What do you think? |

everytime, you move to stand split double hit, it always falls to the bottom, where it says small med large, it always messes the game up, when you push it back, it go's all the way up, or al the way down. |

Basic strategy for 3 card soft 18, i.e. A,2,5 is to HIT not stand. The trick is to add the 2 and 5 for 7, then use A,7 vs. 3. You should hit this. YOu only stand on A,8 and A,9. |

I love your site, but found one small error in the game. Basic strategy for 3-card soft 18 (ex. A,2,5) is to stand v. 2-8, hit v. 9,10,A. The game penalized me for standing A,2,5 v. 3. Thanks. |
