I"ll usually ask the morons where "they" learned to play the game, which usually brings some ignorant answer, but brings great laughter. The dealers always agree what is the proper B/S play, but usually I'll just tell them to kiss my ignorant
a_ _ . O well, someone needs to show them way. |

Hi All, great message board.Been checking in for awhile to read the posts. I play in A C and have been doing well the last 5 times out. I use perfect BS and bet progressive, regressive system 2-1-2-3-4-5 etc. with no stops. If I lose I start over again. Once I win 50% of my bankroll I am done with my session. I am looking for an average win ratio of 75%. Does anyone out there think that is possible. Thanks |

Nope... they just dont know WHEN to stop, aka ADDICTION. Either that or are INCREDIBLY STUPID BJ players who go to the casinos to do nothing more than to LOSE MASSIVE MONEY. |

While in vegas found my self in middle of two high rollers they both were entered later that day in a bj tournament. One young kid had been up 15k earlier and lost that back and now was playng on markers 2 k at a time.Found out besides being soused on Corona that he was a high school english teacher. On other side was a gal trying to empty the Atm machineat 1k each time.End result was guy losing all of his 20k limit in markers and gal 5 k losing from her atm card. I felt like a poor man playing 25-50 each hand.I lost 200 here but outlasted the 20k and 5k tournament players. this was at the Stardust.Neither one played very good strategy in my opinion.over 25 k profit for the house in an hour minus minimum wage for dealer.Definite house game . |

SLD, I saw your IM today... try to get on at night cuz that's when I'm mostly on as I have school in the daytime...
So basically... if you win MULTIPLE splits/doubledowns, just skip 2 steps as if you only won ONE double/split right? Would there ever be a scenario that you would skip MORE then 2 steps using this progression? |

acepaula - Remeber the words of the Good Book, which I paraphrase as "Go away from the ignorant for they know not enough to inquire". Loosely transalated this means: Don't waste your time arguing with an idiot! |

just returned from vegas-and I
have to add one rule to BS- PATIENCE! I also was berrated for hitting 12 against dealers
2 while playing third base. Unfortuneatly, I ended up taking dealers bust card 3 times in a row, but kept my mouth shut and continued playing solid BS. Are there any
suggestions for dealing with the loud-mouthed ignorants? |

bug - two posts. First, "checks play" in my experience, is only said when the player has bet at least $100 on the hand. I have never in 20 years heard it called out by the dealer unless there were atleast 4 green out, 1 black, etc. As far as your 3 8s scenario, if you end up winning collectively on all three hands more than what is equal to 2 levels skipped, your next bet would be at the amount equal to 2 levels skipped. |

Like many other things, the "checks-play" amount is different, at different casinos. I had a "check-play" call, for an all red $35 bet. So no, it is Not just for green chips. You may get the call at $100 or less and it may take $500 or more. |

Tournament results: It was a live money tournament. $100 entry and $200 buy in. You played 30 hands, top two advance. I was up and down, like a Duncan yo-yo. Two players bust out. I move in to second place, then miss back to back DD's and drop to third place, with one hand to go. I get to bet last. Player (1) has $450. Player (2) has $240. I have $150. Looks like I don't have a chance, BUT player (2) makes a betting mistake. She bets $40. I go all in and bet the $150. If I can win the hand, I move on. I drew a 7-2. Dealer has a face. I hit and get a 3, hit again and pull a 7, for 19. Dealer has a second face card in the hole. Did what I needed to do, to move on. But it work out. |

DD yeah dealers differ where ever you go.. @ River Palms in Laughlin I had a girl yelling "Checkplay" every hand until the pitboss just stood next to her as I bumbed heads with her for about a shoe and a half. Then at Harrahs I did the same thing with a dealer who didn't say anything when I swithed from green to black and went up about 1500 in 1 shoe.. |

Hi everyone. Here at the Bally's LV. Found a dealer who is a card counter's dream -- really slow, about 129 years old. But it's an 8 deck shoe so it takes a while to get a meaningful true count. After a couple of not great days (stayed in budget meaning I lost my limit) had a good day today but it's not over yet. Got funny looks and unwanted attention on a few green chip plays at Boardwalk casino. (Dealer shouts out to pit boss 'playing Green!) It's the "home of $3 Blackjack". Last night at Paris a true moron at third base cost me plenty. I finally walked away and the dealer muttered "I don't blame you." |

So Sld, there's no GENERAL RULE to only skip 2 steps per hand MAXIMUM or what? What if I was playing at $50 table and got dealt 3 8's, and doubledowned on one of them... if this were the first of the shoe how many am I supposed to skip?? |

Bug, Today I was at MotorCity Casino in Detroit and one guy at the table wouldn't stop ranting that I should have hit my 10-2 vs dealer 6. I first ignore "uneducated" comments like this from other players. Then I made a comment that I play straight Basic Strategy "by the book" Then he said "Yea, but the casino wrote the book" I replied, "maybe yours, but mathematicians with logarithms and computer simulations wrote mine." Remember, I usually did TRY to ignore the first comment or two. i wish I would have had your dealer to stick up for me. |
