Grifter Coug...Thanks for the post about counting down a 6D. It is rather easy, isn\'t it? 2003-05-22 19:41:13
ps I\'ve enjoyed this site over the last two weeks, but please leave the egos and name calling alone, it hurts the credibility of the discussions 2003-05-22 19:23:26
Coug Fan SLD007 - I must know alot of \"Rain Men\" because everyone I know can count into a 6 deck shoe. Its as simple as adding 1,0,1,-1..... The only added difficulty with 6 decks over 1 or 2 decks is that you have to remember this running count longer. 2003-05-22 16:11:37
Coug Fan Phil G - Tens and aces are better for the player because the dealer will bust more often (since he is constrained to a fixed strategy regardless of the deck composition), and your doubles and splits will be more likely to work out. Also, both you and the dealer will get Blackjacks more often, which is beneficial because you get paid 3:2 and the dealer gets even money. Take a look at some respectable books on card counting for more details. You could start with Professional Blackjack, Blackjack Attack and KO Blackjack. 2003-05-22 16:08:44
Phil G. This may be a very stupid question but I do not understand why a deck rich in high cards (10 - A) is better for the player. I can understand how it would help in knowing when to hit certain hands etc. but does that give enough of advantage to go through the trouble of counting. I play red and green and have been up since I began playing BS, 2-1-2-3-4-5-6 progression, I quit when I am up 30 units, and I win about 80% of the time. I do not count cards, still learning the basics. How much could I expect to increase my winnings if I were to learn to count? Thanks for any info. you can provide. 2003-05-22 14:21:39
sld007 baton rouge - so you\'re out of rehab, huh? The last post from you said that you were a poor college student. I think you better go back to school junior, because the last eight years you spent there have been completely wasted. And as for you Grifter...you calling me \"ROOKIE\" is about like a AA ballplayer calling a major league pitcher \"BUSH LEAGUE\"...which your actions have proven you to be. I never called you antiquated, I said that COUNTING was antiquated in light of 6-8 deck shoes, auto shuffling, etc. Also, I never called you a deviate, you idiot. I said ... \"Leave deviation to the deviates.\" The next time you pop off at someone, it might help if you take the time (or put on your bifocals) and properly read both the verbiage as well as the context. You see \"son\", in Texas we have a little thing called \"irony\" and sometimes we compare subjects to other subjects using \"metaphors\". It seems that you went to the same podunk school as baton rouge. Look Grifter, I\'ve played BJ for as long or longer than you. I\'ve played in Monte Carlo and London and I\'ve played in Shreveport and St. Charles. I correspond regularly with Walter Thomason, who has invited me to play BJ with him on many occasions. I\'ve met Scoblete and Thorp. Hell, I even played 3 shoes with Stanford Wong! Have you? Do you even know who these icons are? Do you even know what \"icon\" means? and no it doesn\'t mean that you\'re a prison inmate...unless you\'re related to brbg, which come to think of it, you probably are. 2003-05-22 13:57:29
pmppaul had a good night at the riverboats in st louis tuesday night... played a bit of craps then on to work at the bj table. was working against the dealer and all the jokers who were hitting on 17s and 16s with dealer showing 6 but weathered the storm at the tune of $140 down but came back with a good consistent table and went on a nice run playing $25 a hand. i think i came close to winning every hand of the shoe and going from my 80 bucks in chips to $500.. was 3am at this point and called it a day.. back up 260 -- that should float me this weekend in michigan and get me nice and ready for vegas on the 29th.. cheers! 2003-05-22 13:26:55
batonrouge SLD/LSD:As Paul Newman said \"o.k. boss man\", show some respect, degenerate, LSD/moron. 2003-05-22 12:42:46
batonrouge sld: Or should it read LSD, you are out of your mind. Why don\'t you show some respect and you might learn something. Everybody knows you are just talkin the talk, and not walkin the walk, all show and no go.That progression system you live by is trash. Every good gambler knows any number of bets there are precisely so many possible amounts, win and lost sequences that it will come in. So take that and place it where the sun dosen\'t shine. Better yet, give it to your mom, for she\'s coming to bail me out. Don\'t worry I\'ll return the favor to her. 2003-05-22 09:12:06
mondello i forgive you, for you know not what you do 2003-05-22 09:01:47

mondello i love jesus 2003-05-22 08:53:39
Grifter SLD – Wow, you are “a piece of work”. I disagree with you and admit to using a count and OVERNIGHT I become “antiquated”, “son”, “rat pack member”, and a “deviate”. Do you “get off” on calling people names? I noticed you did that a while back with someone else. Call me anything you want except your “name”……”R-O-O-K-I-E”. 2003-05-22 08:18:48
sld007 steve - got to the horseshoe...but stay away from the 2nd or 3rd floors, unless you are a pulmonologist (lots of old people with mobile breathing machines). Stay away from Hollywood. I used to play there BUT GOT THROWN OUT FOR...are you ready...here it comes...arguing with a dealer for a mistake in arithmatic (must be related to midnite) when she rolled over a 2,2,A,7 on top of a 5 up with a 6 down after I had split 8s, with 3 DDs, totalling about $1200 in bets AND SAID SHE HAD 21 AND SCOOPED UP THE CARDS AND THEN HAD THE BALLS NOT TO COUNT IT OUT when I asked her to. The pit was no help either (I think they were pissed that I was up about $3200 at the time, but still that\'s not that much)and asked me to fu***ng leave! True story. So, Now I play at the Horseshoe...where sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but they always treat me with respect, the dealers are friendly, the comps are great and the girls (such as they are in Shreveport) are much hotter anyway. 2003-05-22 08:00:49
steve Lay off poor Midnite, I knew what he meant. Boy I got to get to Vegas, if it messes your mind up all the way to Thursday it sounds like my kind of place. Thanks Midnite, I\'m so stuck in my objective way of thinking (helps in my specialty) that I never even thought of it in that way. Another thing is I\'m still new enough at the game that at the actual casino table a mistake still gets me flustered. Last weekend after a series of streaks I went way past 2x my buy in, and in thinking about it I hit a 16 against a dealer 6, that move got me so flustered I had to quit the table. I also think way to much about my chip pile. I\'m not rich by any means but I\'m a divorced MD, with no debt other than my house and I got plenty of pocket change, and I sit there and worry myself into a frazzle about being down 50 bucks in a blackjack game, so I got to get over that. Maybe 10 or 15 hours at the boats in Louisana will help. 2003-05-22 06:24:47
Veasoned Seteran Steve- Have you ever seen the dealer with a 9 up, turn over a 5 and hit it with a 9 and say 21, as soon as the card hit the table. You wonder how in the world he can add them up that fast ? He can\'t. Neither can I 9+5+9=23 2003-05-22 05:58:51
