I'm going to coral gables for a six day conference next week. There's a 200' yacht called the casino princesa which sails twice a day out of miami. Only $10/person and they've got full casino play including BJ from $3 to $50 table minimums. Has anyone out there ever been on this ship? vegas rules? Do they cheat? etc. Please advise. |

Hi Dog, didn't play BJ at Pearl when we went last year (craps mainly), but what a golf course at dancing rabbit. I'm from Memphis so it's an easy drive. People were great there.....Bill |

Just returned from a 1-day driving trip, making several overnight stops at casinos along the way, from a riverboat in New Albany IN to a Chippewa reservation in Mount Pleasant Michigan, to a Harrah's on a reservation in Cherokee NC. Although I made money at every stop, I've returned to the deep south with renewed affection for my usual haunt, the Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia MS: most liberal bj rules, most generous comps, most interesting mix of people. Mainly writing to say that a year ago I didn't know diddly about bj and owe a lot to everyone here on the message board, and to the site itself. All during my trip I (somewhat reluctantly, because I like to keep a low profile) coached lots of newbies, and found myself recommending the site over and over again. Before I hit another casino, I'm printing up little cards with the site address on it to distribute! Sorry to go on here, just saying THANKS! |

I made some simulations and realized that questions sucked. Sorry for spamming the board. :) |

Simple questions :)
1) Is there an algorithm to play Blackcjack effectively (ie. make money :) ) in internet casinos?
2) If i mimic dealer algorythm (stand on 17 and above) does it mean that i will statistically win 50% of games?
3) If 2 is true does it mean that i will slowly make money just by getting blackjacks from time to time? |

D-very funny! Believe me, she is very upset about dropping a g on roulette and slots. And I agree with you that sexism is rampant in BJ circles just like the rest of society. You keep on playing the soft 18 the right way and to hell with machismo!! |

sld, I agree, with your soft 18 comments, it's amazing how many "comments" I get when I play basic strategy soft 18. I figured it was because I'm a girl and all the "boys" figure I can't be correct. P.S. I hope your new girlfriend doesn't read how you "wasted" your $! :) Thanks for all the advice, I'm a regular reader. |

rookie-Your friends are right, Roulette is the way to go.......go broke. :) Short term, you can win on any casino game. Congratulations on your win. |

Hello everybody. I went on my first casino trip last week and headed straight for the blackjack table. My buds said Roulette was the way to go, but i knew better. Two hours later I left up $100. I almost feel guilty about it. Almost. |

Just got back from the Horseshoe in Shreveport. Had some good shoes and some bad ones. Ran into Jack Binion himself there--very personable. The level of play was directly related to the table minimums (i.e. 50+ no problems, under $25 -- you name it I saw it!) Walked in with 3900, walked out with 3700 after 6.5 hours of play, however did waste some $$$ on new girlfriend and slots, wheel, etc. so I think I made a little money. One thing though -- even really good players still do not understand what to do with a soft 18. They won't double it and they won't hit it, most of the time. Very interesting and very stupid. |

Just back from Vegas. I was not happy to see all the crap-o-la on the board. To move on in the Hilton tournament you had to be first or second at the table, I came in Third.... I may try it again next year, not sure yet. At the final table four of the seven players, were wild card draws. I did do quite well at the BJ tables and had fun. It was great to see Grifter again. He is a Very Sharp player. |

trop - I wouldn't worry about brbg. His sharp objects have all been taken away. I would bid him adieu, but he doesn't understand any language unless it's in all caps or ends with "know what I mean, Vern?" |

Slow - I ussually get there between 10am and 1pm and play for a few hours, and if they raise the stakes while you're playing (4 or 5pm I think)they'll grandfather you in at the old minimum for as long as you play. I'll probably get down there next week sometime, I'll give ya a heads up and maybe run into you there. |
